Armed Forces Remembrance Day: Hon. Goke Odetunde reflects on the sacrifices of fallen heroes.
The Executive Chairman of Isokan Local Government, Hon. Goke Odetunde, today, the 15th day of January, on behalf of his administration and members of his cabinet, joined the Nigerian Legion in commemorating the Armed Forces Remembrance Day, a ceremony dedicated to honoring the courage and sacrifices of Nigeria's military veterans.
The service was held at the palace of the Alapomu of Apomu, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kayode Adenekan Afolabi, where veterans, traditional rulers, government officials, and notable dignitaries gathered to pay tribute to those who served the nation with distinction.
In recognition of his unwavering support for the welfare of ex-servicemen and women, Hon. Goke Odetunde was decorated with the Nigerian Armed Forces emblem by the Nigerian Legion, Isokan Local Government Chapter. Other distinguished guests present at the event were also similarly honored.
While addressing attendees, the chairman described the day as a time of deep reflection and gratitude, noting that the peace and stability enjoyed by the nation are products of the sacrifices made by members of the Armed Forces. He applauded the Legion for sustaining the spirit of patriotism and remembrance.
Hon. Odetunde further expressed heartfelt appreciation to veterans for their dedication, bravery, and selfless service to Nigeria. He concluded with prayers for their continued well-being, peace, and renewed strength, while reaffirming his administration's respect and support for those who have defended the nation's sovereignty.
