Isokan Local Government Sets Up Committee to Tackle IGR Leakages.
The Executive Chairman of Isokan Local Government, Hon. Goke Odetunde, has approved the establishment of a special committee to address leakages in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and strengthen revenue administration across the local government.
The inauguration and presentation of approval letter to the committee were ably represented by the Chairman's Chief of Staff, Hon. Lateef Adetunji, who conveyed the goodwill and firm commitment of the Executive Chairman to prudent financial management, transparency, and sustainable revenue generation. The initiative reflects the administration's resolve to ensure due process, accountability, and proper authorization in all revenue-related activities.
Speaking on behalf of the Chairman, Hon. Adetunji emphasized that the committee has been mandated to streamline revenue collection, block financial loopholes, and eliminate all forms of leakages. He noted that the committee will also monitor revenue agents and stakeholders to ensure they operate strictly within the confines of the law and approved guidelines.
He further stated that the formation of the committee is part of a broader reform agenda by the Hon. Goke Odetunde-led administration to boost Internally Generated Revenue as a critical driver of grassroots development. According to him, improved and well-managed revenue will translate into better infrastructure, enhanced social services, and improved welfare for residents of Isokan Local Government.
In conclusion, members of the committee and all revenue stakeholders were urged to uphold integrity, accountability, and professionalism in the discharge of their duties, as the local government will not tolerate any form of misconduct or deviation from established procedures.
