JUBILATION IN ISOKAN LG AS HON. GOKE ODETUNDE DISTRIBUTES 10 MOTORCYCLES, ANNOUNCES EMPOWERMENT FOR 1,500 HOUSEHOLDS, FLAGS OFF 40KM ROAD GRADING, ORDERS IMMEDIATE RENOVATION OF OWODE HEALTH CENTRE

There was widespread jubilation across Isokan Local Government today as the Executive Chairman, Hon. Goke Odetunde, rolled out a series of impactful programmes aimed at improving the welfare of residents and accelerating grassroots development.

The eventful day witnessed the distribution of 10 motorcycles to key stakeholders within the local government. Beneficiaries included the palaces of Alapomu and Ikoyi for the smooth running of traditional activities, as well as security agencies such as the police and civil defence in both communities to strengthen safety across the communities. Other community stakeholders also benefited from the gesture.

Speaking during the distribution, Hon. Odetunde reaffirmed his administration's commitment to providing continuous logistical support to enhance community development and security.

In another major highlight, the Chairman announced the empowerment of 1,500 households across Isokan Local Government. He described the initiative as the first phase of a broader programme designed to reach every household in the council area. According to him, the empowerment scheme will cut across all segments of society, including artisans, community groups, and organizations, without any political or religious bias.

Demonstrating his administration's commitment to infrastructure development, Hon. Odetunde also flagged off the grading of 40 kilometres of roads across the local government. He noted that poor road conditions have long hindered economic growth and accessibility within the area. The flag-off took place along the Police Station–Adrem School road, where the chairman personally supervised the commencement of the project. He assured residents that, upon completion, major roads across Isokan would become motorable.

Further underscoring his dedication to improving healthcare delivery, Hon. Odetunde visited the Primary Health Centre in the Owode area of Apomu. Disturbed by the deplorable condition of the drug store, he immediately ordered its renovation. He emphasized that a functional health facility must have proper storage for medications, stressing that the upgrade was necessary to ensure efficient healthcare services.

The day's activities drew the presence of notable dignitaries, including the Isokan LCDA Chairman, Hon. Oyelami, councillors, and several community leaders.

Residents across the local government expressed excitement and appreciation, noting that they are already feeling the positive impact of effective governance and grassroots-focused leadership under the current administration.
